…today you sit with your friend and companion, a Mr. Ruskin of the majestic Cumbrian manor Brantwood. As you sip tea and discuss the recent reopening of Alexandra Palace over marmalade toast, Mr. Ruskin ponders if there is any truth to the claim that in England ‘The slices of bread and butter which they give you with your tea are as thin as poppy leaves!’.

‘But how thin is a poppy leaf?’, you ask. You immediately return your cups to saucers and descend into the glorious grounds of Brantwood, to seek out a handsome example of the ‘Papaver Rhoeas’ to compare to your breakfast slice…

This made-to-order high quality, limited edition dress and headband ensemble features a mid-weight, buttery soft natural cotton/linen blend with distressed and frayed seams, printed with an over-sized 19th century botanical illustration of the Common Poppy or “Papaver Rhoeas”, an ancient and ubiquitous poppy with a history that stretches throughout Africa, Asia and Europe.

This unconventional, striking design will spark conversation, outlast fleeting trends, and remain a treasured wardrobe staple. Each dress comes with a reversible obi-belt, headband and matching clutch (new addition - picture coming soon!).

The matching Common Poppy reversible jacket and tote are sold separately.
