• forever pieces

megsmithmakes garments are designed to last a lifetime, so that each wear gathers memories and love. I sew only ten of each style, so each piece starts as something special.

  • true slow fashion

I don't keep stock, but rather make each garment to order in my Dandenong Ranges studio. This means it might take a while for your garment to arrive - but I believe good things are worth the wait.

The clothes we love should be made with love. I design with sustainability in mind, and am Ethical Clothing Australia accredited and a member of Seamless Australia. My supply chain is available to view here.

high waist, wide leg, super comfy

I am happy to report that four styles for The Florist's Daughter high-waisted, wide leg pant are now available !

Made from a soft and comfy cotton-linen blend, the pant is made with a relaxed fit, pockets, and a super-wide cuff that enables them to be sewn up for a casual three-quarter length style, or let back down for a long and sleek evening look.

Keeping with my goal of full compostability where possible, the pant has no zips, buttons, or buckles, and instead features an adjustable tie waistband that can be loosened or tightened depending on how enjoyable lunch was, and whether any cake was involved 🎂. The pant is available in Small, Medium and Large, and comes with a matching clutch bag.

As with all my designs only 10 of each style will be made 🤎

I am in awe of your beautiful work and will cherish these items forever. I will definitely use the cut off pieces to make my own brooch (I love wearing brooches!) and I will use the patches too. The presentation when opening the box was amazing!

    I'm so happy!

Hi Meg, just wanted to let you know that your dress arrived today and I am stunned! Your workmanship, attention to detail, finishing, quality of fabrics, and the dress pattern are all beyond what I was expecting! Such an absolutely beautiful piece. I am so happy with my purchase, it is a work of art.

I love your patches so much!!  I took my last order in to my granddaughter today – she is studying fashion – and was delighted.  I have just ordered another set for myself.  Thank you for the beautiful work you are creating.

No-one should suffer for fashion. Our clothes should be made with love and care, and for that to happen those who make our clothes must be treated respectfully and paid a living wage. This is why I am Ethical Clothing Australia accredited. All parts of my Australian supply chain (including me!) have been independently audited to ensure that those who help bring my clothes to you are paid appropriately, receive all their legal entitlements, and work in safe conditions.
