The cacophony of tableware, cutlery, bellowing and shrill laughter were almost deafening to her ears, accustomed as they were to the gentle voice of her father and the quiet companionship of flowers, easels and palette. She had only ever seen Castle Keukenhof from afar, its upright bearing, crowded windows and somewhat shocked expression were not really to her taste. But today, she saw it as beautiful. Her father had spent the previous day meticulously schooling her as to which arrangements were to accompany which banquet course, the blooms chosen specifically to complement both hue and scent of the dish being served.
